Go Akashi, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Go founded AirPangaea with a simple yet powerful idea: linking schools across the world to make a positive impact on the global community. As Co-founder and CEO, he brings his passion, innovative ideas and an open mind to activate the full potential of the young generation.  Prior to AirPangaea, he held global investment and business management positions at Recruit Group, a Japanese conglomerate, where he worked at Quipper, an online learning platform in the SEA region, and TrustYou GmbH, a global feedback platform in Germany.  He holds an MBA from Claremont Graduate University in the US  (as a Beta Gamma Sigma member) and a BS/MS from Kyoto University in Japan.

Fikri Akbar, Co-Founder

Fikri Akbar joined Go's vision for AirPangaea because he believes in the power of collaboration among students from different countries and the role it plays in shaping the future generation of global leaders. Prior to AirPangaea, he co-founded two startups in Indonesia, Advedia360, a Wi-Fi-based ad tech company, and XQ Informatics, a big data analysis company. He holds an MS from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka and a BS from Multimedia University, both located in Malaysia.

2020 December 

Began discussion for the original form of AirPangaea with a co-founder, Fikri Akbar.

2021 March

Started the AirPangaea website for the cross-cultural collaborative learning free of charge.

2021 June

Completed the Virtual Exchange Design course provided by UNICollaboration, a partner of Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange Initiative.

2021 July

Individuals and English clubs from 9 Asian and African countries have participated in the AirPangaea program.

2021 September

Became a member of the Japanese Society of ESD.

2022 January

Started a new MOTTAINAI program for high schools from Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippine.

2022 March

Incorporated AirPangaea, Inc.

2022 August

Launched a new 4 day intercultural exchange program, TOMODACHI program for high schools from around the world.

2024 September

Launched TOMODACHI English, an online English learning and cultural exchange program connecting high school students from Japan with their peers around the world.
